Andy reports: "The day started off about as good as it could with a huge wild Boulder Creek Brown in the net. The fish took a small tung teaser behind a hopper on the third cast in the pool. This is the biggest brown that I have seen a client land this season. With a trophy brown under our belts I figured we should spend the rest of the day racking up numbers and going for the slam."
"We headed up the canyon, a bit closer the falls, to start to target some rainbows. Downsizing our rig we fished clown shoe caddis with a trailing copper john in a variety of colors, but green was the candy for the bows here."
"After knocking down a few bows we hopped in the car and buzzed up near Castle Rock to wail on a few brookies to complete our slam. I find a red Copper John really does the trick and we quickly started catching."
"A few fish later we really got rewarded with a cutthroat out of Boulder Creek to make our slam a Super Grand Slam!"
"This had to be one of the better days that we had out on Boulder Creek with many fish coming to hand, a huge monster brown, and a cutty." ~Andy
If you would like to have a day like this out on Boulder Creek, book a guide trip with Andy or one of our other guides for a day exploring all the front range has to offer. Needless to say that our client went home satisfied and tired from a full day wading the creek.
